Please acknowledge with us, that meetings of Council are held in the traditional territory of the Anishinabek where the Chiefs of Sagamok Anishnawbek, Whitefish River First Nation, and Atikameksheng Anishnawbek agreed to share this land through the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850.

Under Section 34 of The Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, a Public Hearing is being held to consider the proposed Zoning By-law
Amendment Application:

The purpose of the zoning bylaw amendment application is to rezone the property from R1 to R3-X to permit the development of 6 one-bedroom residential units. Site specific relief is requested to permit the proposed size of each unit to be 46.45m2, whereas 55m2 is required, reduced lot frontage of 20.14 m where 25 m is required, reduced front yard of 5.44 m where 7.0 m is required under Section 6.3 of the Zoning By-law. Site specific relief is also requested to permit 7 parking spaces where 9 are required under Section 3.23.a, permit parking in the minimum front yard under Section 3.23.d, and a 1 m projection into the east interior side yard for external stairs under Section 3.33.b of the Zoning By-law.

Council of the Town of Espanola will be considering a request from the Knight Cruisers Car Club for an exemption to Municipal Bylaws to permit a Car Show on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Track and Field;


1.  A temporary exemption from Municipal Bylaw No. 1219/96, Section 14, being a bylaw to control the use of Municipally and Recreationally owned property 14. 4) no person shall park any vehicle in any park, recreational area or on municipal property of the Town of Espanola except in those areas specifically designated by appropriate signs and notices as being areas in which vehicles may be parked.


2.  Temporarily closing Avery Dr. from the Complex to Hunter St. to traffic with the exception of emergency vehicles on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm to host the Knight Cruisers Car Show.


3. A temporary exemption from certain provisions of the Noise Bylaw No. 1189/96, on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. For an event being held outdoors at the Track & Field – The Knight Cruisers Car Show.

  • CA-24-07 Be It Resolved That:  Items H.1 to L.1 inclusive contained in Part 1, Consent Agenda be adopted.

  • Be It Resolved That: The following Minutes are hereby accepted;  Special Meeting of Council of March 26, 2024; Regular Meeting of Council of March 26, 2024; Special Meeting of Council of March 26, 2024.

  • Be It Resolved That: Council authorizes:

    1. The following bylaws will be read and passed.

  • Be It Resolved That: Bylaw No. 3189/24 be adopted, being a Bylaw to confirm the proceedings of Council during their regular meeting of March 26, 2024.

  • Be It Resolved That:  The 2024 Municipal Budget is approved as presented.

  • Be It Resolved That: The Water and Sewer Budget be approved as presented and that Bylaw No. 3095/22 be amended to reflect adjustments to water and sewer rates as presented.                 

  • Be It Resolved That: Bylaw No. 3190/24 be adopted, being a Bylaw to execute an Agreement between the Minister of Transportation for the Province of Ontario and the Town of Espanola for Dedicated Gas Tax Funds.

  • Be It Resolved That:  The following reports are hereby received;  Economic Development Department Departmental Report.

PART 2 - REGULAR AGENDA
  • Be It Resolved That: Bylaw No. 3161/24 be adopted, being a bylaw to amend the Zoning Bylaw.

  • Be It Resolved That: Council approve the hiring of a full-time Cleaner at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex to be utilized by both the Community and Recreation Department and the Espanola Public Library.
