Please acknowledge with us, that meetings of Council are held in the traditional territory of the Anishinabek where the Chiefs of Sagamok Anishnawbek, Whitefish River First Nation, and Atikameksheng Anishnawbek agreed to share this land through the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850.

Council of the Town of Espanola will be considering a request from Garson Pipe Construction for an exemption to Municipal Bylaw No 1189/96, being the Noise Bylaw.


Purpose:  The purpose of this request would permit Garson Pipe to begin construction at 6:30 am for work on the Trunk Watermain Phase 2 and would be effective immediately.

Recommendation regarding Noise Bylaw Exemption Request

 

  • Be It Resolved That: Council rejects Garson Pipe contractors proposed exemption from the noise-bylaw.

Recommendation regarding PRIDE month

 

  • Be It Resolved That: WHEREAS the Town of Espanola values inclusion; AND WHEREAS the citizens of Espanola, who are Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, + (2SLGBTQI+) are equal and important members of  society; AND WHEREAS many Ontario communities are celebrating their citizens who are 2SLGBTQI+ by declaring a Pride Week or Month; raising awareness for equal rights and full equality for individuals locally and globally; THEREFORE Be It Resolved that Council declares the month of June as PRIDE Month in the Town of Espanola.
